Administrative Support Assistant

This position is the Administrative Support Assistant for Tillamook Field Office, Oregon State Office and the Medford District. This position serves as a principle point of contact on specific administrative operations. The primary duties for this position include processing correspondence, maintaining specific records, documentation, databases and entering data for budget, travel and procurement, purchasing, office supplies and property. The incumbent serves as a travel, vehicle, time and attendance and property point of contact and assists area staff with related tasks and works with HR liaison submitting personnel actions to the state office. Physical Demands:
The work is typically sedentary. Some work may require periods of walking, standing, bending, or driving a motor vehicle. The incumbent may frequently lift relatively light boxes, materials, and supplies and /or carry file folder's copied materials, books, and other similar materials.Work Environment:
Work is typically located in an adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated office environment. The work environment may involve everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, mail distribution centers, meeting and training rooms, libraries, or motor vehicles. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade (GS-06) of the position to be filled. Examples:
Clerical or administrative support work in a variety of programs or functions, such as budget, procurement, timekeeping, payroll and customer service. Work requires knowledge of the organization supported and the regulations, policies, procedures, and techniques relevant to the work performed. Processing a wide variety of transactions for more than one type of assigned activity. Experience in interpreting and applying regulations and requirements to process such actions. Identify issues or problems and seek alternative solutions based on the applicable rules, regulations, and procedures OR one full year of of graduate education meets the requirements for GS-7. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
