Overview
The work is for a private forestry company who contracts with the government and private land owners all over the United States. The existing fleet consists of over 75 vehicles and other specialized equipment. The Offer is for someone to manage the costs, repair and maintenance of all vehicles, equipment and company shop. Assist crews with mechanical breakdown to include travel of shop personnel to the site when necessary. Requires phone contact and availability 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
Expectations
To hire a staff and run an existing shop in order to help all crews to run efficiently by being very prompt in getting all equipment and vehicles into top running condition and supply such to all crews so they have little to no down time. Complete this task in a cost effective and efficient manner. To keep the shop and shop yard clean an organized to create an environment of can do and will do. This position is support for all work completed in the field by the field crews, thus the need to creating an environment that instills confidence for those that use the equipment is paramount. Must be able to work indoors in an office situation, in a mechanic shop situation, outdoors in a shop yard, and outdoors in the forest on job locations.
Job specifics
1. Hire and Manage personnel to repair vehicles and equipment and general shop labor. This includes the ability, and the ability of those you hire, to repair all types of vehicles, primarily 15 passenger vans, and 1 ton pickup trucks, including 4X4 and after-market 4X4, various style atv and utv, and various specialty equipment. The ability to use updated computer diagnostics. The ability to fabricate as needed. The ability to upgrade suspensions and secure racks. General mechanical repair and maintenance. Active driver's license and experience with towing.
2. Clean up and restore the shop and shop yard to a professional condition.
3. Create and manage existing accounts with vendors, manage costs, record and manage information and costs.
4. Research and purchase needed vehicles and equipment in consultation with other management.
5. Manage and maintain said shop and yard in a professional condition.
6. Fleet manager and at least one staff member on call at all times to meet emergency needs.
7. Interact with drivers, foreman, and field managers to ensure that needs are being met.
8. Meet with management daily to go over requirements and needs.
9. Be able to travel to job locations if needed. Generally assign shop personnel to travel when needed. Travel can include anywhere in the United States, but primarily in the western half of the U.S. and is as needed, normally a few times per month for shop personnel.
10. Welding skills for repair and fabrication.
Core Requirements
Minimum 5 years as a certified mechanic, 1 year experience in shop or other management, experience with hiring and managing others, computer skills including Word, Excel, internet and email, valid driver's license.

Must be able to hire, fire, and manage others in a team environment with the goal of meeting the needs of other sectors of the business. Vital, must be patient and understanding of the needs of others. Self-driven and results oriented with a positive outlook and clear focus on quality work and fast turnaround time on projects to meet other's needs. A natural forward planner who can critically assess one's own performance, the performance of the department, and can create strategies to increase performance and results. Mature, credible, honest, tolerant, reliable and patient communication skills are major traits needed for high quality performance. The need to see things from the other person's point of view is necessary. Sufficiently mobile and flexible to travel up to a few days per month as needed. Must be sufficiently flexible to be able to take phone calls at any time day or night and react to the needs of others as a team player.
Personal Situation
Must be able to work nights, weekends and overtime when required. Able to commute reliably to the job location in Phoenix, Oregon or other locations as needed. Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record. Must be able to respond quickly and timely to situations when needed. Must be able to pass pre-employment, drug screening and background check.
Literacy
Must be able to read and write to a high school graduate level. Able to understand profit and loss calculations and basic business finance such as; depreciation, revenue expenditure, cash-flow and overhead as examples. Helpful to be articulate on the phone, in writing, and in person. Helpful to be bilingual in English and Spanish.
Job Performance
The performance on the job will be first assessed in one month on the job, each assessment will then be every 4 to 6 months afterwards. Performance will be evaluated by the management staff and owner.
Job Pay
Pay will begin based on experience and will have potential on increase based on performance at the discretion of the owner.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
