Summary:
This position is primarily responsible processing and managing the payable process. This includes ensuring accurate, timely, process of invoices into the Accounts Payable accounting system. Additionally, responsible for selection of checks for payment and processing all payments. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following.
Post and file all invoices in a timely manner and ensure recording occurs in the proper accounting period.
Monitor open payables, reporting status to Assistant Controller and Controller as necessary.
Write checks and distribute to vendors as instructed by the Assistant Controller or Controller.
Prepare and manage monthly statements.
Serve as backup for Accounts Receivable and Billing.
Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Controller or Controller.

Education/
Experience:
Two year degree from an accredited college or university; or 2-3 years of relevant work experience with demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work.
Computer Skills:
Able to apply strong functional computer knowledge in utilizing Microsoft Windows, or other technical tools in completing assignments. May require knowledge of or ability to quickly learn specialized software to complete work assignments. Able to demonstrate continued expertise in the primary tools or applications used in completing daily work assignments.
Physical Demands:
Lifting up to 15 pounds occasionally to move objects. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally stand; reach (extending hands and arms in any direction); walk (moving about to accomplish tasks); lift (raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position); and must frequently sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feet; and talk or hear.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
