A Code Enforcement Officer performs inspections and investigations on a multitude of reported issues including but not limited to abandoned vehicles, accumulation of junk, graffiti, noise violations, or business license violations.
Each officer is responsible for the management of their caseload, evidence collection, and report documentation.
A Code Enforcement Officer interacts with the public on a daily basis and must be efficient in diffusing situations and solving problems.
As a Code Enforcement Officer, one must be a good communicator, team player, and uphold the values of the Medford Police Department.
A qualified applicant is one who:
Is a high school graduate or has a GED equivalent.
Has one (1) year of full-time equivalent customer service experience.
Is 18 years of age by date of hire with no felony convictions.
Has a valid driver's license by date of hire.
Successfully passes a comprehensive background investigation and other pre-employment requirements.

Effective communicator and problem solver.
Maintains composure in stressful or ambiguous situations.
Provides great customer service and is a self-starter.
Learning agility and ability to read and analyze municipal codes.
Exemplifies positive energy and integrity, and demonstrates empathy and respect.
Available schedules:
Monday - Thursday or Tuesday - Friday 4 - 10 hour/days Potential Pay Differentials:
English/Spanish bilingual proficiency 4.
5% College credits up to 10% for a bachelor's degree The anticipated hiring range for this position is $26.
25 (first step) to $27.
56 or $28.
93 (second or third step).
Directly related experience and qualifications will be evaluated alongside others who perform work of comparable character as required by Pay Equity Law.
Six steps are included in this salary range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.
