RVMC's Pediatric Unit serves patients from 1 day old to 16 years of age and treats basically any type of acute illness that can occur. The Peds unit functions as a hospital within a hospital and provides care for all services, in-patient and out-patient. In Peds, there are 14 regular beds and 3 critical care beds with an average daily census between 4-7. Nurse to patient ratios on an average are 1:3 depending on acuity.
Education:Associates Degree in Nursing or above.
License/Certification:Registered Nurse (RN) licensed by Oregon State Board of Nursing andBasic Life Support (BLS) certified by American Heart Associationrequired. PALS certification required prior to completion of orientation. RNC (preferred).
Experience:Two to three years current RN experience in Pediatrics. Charge experience. Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age/type of patient population served. Experience in an acute patient care environment.
