AsanteCertified Nursing Aides(CNA's) are key contributors toour mission ofproviding thehighest quality patient care in a compassionate manner. TheCNAdemonstrates excellence in patient care by following the directions of the Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Physician or Physician Assistant, but is also anactive participant in the success of their unit.
Education:Completion of an OSBN approved CNA 1 Program is required.Must complete an OSBN approved CNA 2 - Acute Care Program within 90 days of hire.
License/Certification:CNA 1 certified by the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) at time of hire is required.CNA 2 Acute Care certified by the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) within 90 days of hire; Basic Life Support certified by the American Heart Association required.
Applicants with a current CNA-2 license or those with a CNA-1 license that are already enrolled in a CNA-2 class arepreferred.
Experience:No experience is required, however, experience in an acute patient care environment is preferred. Ability to use a computer or willingness to learn. Demonstrated use of Microsoft Office and/or unit specific software applications.
Working Environment/Physical Requirements:This position requires the ability to lift up to50 pounds on an occasional basis for example to transfer a patient in and out of a bed.The ability to bend, stretch, twist and perform other awkward physical movements is also required.To be placed in this position applicants must pass a physical functional screening.
